The most pleasant surprise this year at US Open woman competition is certainly Hungarian youngster Agnes Szavay. She reached the final in New Heaven one week ago and there she won against strong players like Stosur or Hantuchova. At US Open she easily eliminated Sandra Kloesel i nthe first round and somewhat harder Michaela Krajicek in second.
Her oponent today, Nadia Petrova is currently 8 player on WTA standings. She also has good results lately. In LA he reached the final losing to lately in form Ana Ivanovic but she impressed me with her performances. At US Open Petrova ousted Bacsinszki in first round and in second ha bit more work to do against Rodionova but only in first set.
Although, Szavay impressed with her lately performances in my opinion it will not be enough in match against much experienced (especially at Grand Slams) Nadia Petrova. IMO Petrova should win this match in straight sets , but my pick is simple Petrova to win. LOST (odds around 1.50)
