After unsuccessful appearance in Montreal and lost against Djokovic , Kiefer started pretty good in Cincinnati beating Marat Safin in first match 2:0 in sets. He took first set without much problems but in second Safin showed his real face. However, that wasn’t enough for in form German and he finished that match in tiebreak. Improvement in Kiefer play is visible and it looks he enjoy playing at hard surface.
The other side, James Blake don’t has great second part of the season. But he is again on home soil and in past years Blake always perform his maximum in the States. In first match he eliminated Alesandro Falla. He had trouble in the first set but won it tight and in second he dominated and made comfortable win. Although he is not in perfect form my vote and money go for Blake because he is very tough to beat at U.S.A hardcourts. If he serve like in 2nd set against Falla I don’t see how Kiefer could break him.
Tight match , but my pick is Blake to win (1.93 @ expect ) , medium stakes.
