July 1st Betting Closed?
July 1st 2008 17:11
I think I have learned my lesson and will try and shy away from the over/unders of the MLB. Baseball is enticing, but pitchers show up or fall apart and I am doing well picking winners, but those late comebacks or complete games are killers.
Also explaining my title, I tried to place a bet or at least see the line for the Toronto Blue Jays game versus the Seattle Mariners and betting was closed. I think Seattle is still undecided or not telling who their starting pitcher will be. On Canada's Day the one Canadian baseball team is unavailable. So below are my picks for todays action in the WNBA and National league.
WNBA
( 9) NYL @ LAS
-The Sparks have one of the best tandems in the league but until one of them permanently plays PG they are a little shaky closing out games right now.
-Liberty's PG is solid and puts up big numbers and steals with great regularity
-Bet the points, Sparks are a sexy pick but the nine pts is better value today.
BET New York Liberty to COVER plus 9pts
WNBA
(-7) PHX @ ATL
-The Dream are winless at 0-15, so why would things change. They may have had a shot early on against the defending champs but they have righted the ship.
-The seven points is a bunch on the road but this team is coming into form even w/o Penny.
-Mercury will take this one, should blow 'em out but don't be overly confident.
BET Phoenix Mercury to WIN -7pts
MLB
( 100) PHI @ ATL
-Philadelphia has Kendrick on the hill and they seem to do well and support him with a lot of runs.
-Atlanta has a myriad of injuries now including Yuniel Escobar.
-I have also taken this game in a parlay and this one is the closest thing to a question mark.
BET Philadelphia Phillies to WIN plus 100
Comments
nowunyouno->The Sillies will win, how is that for insight!
imonkey->For some reason Phili only wins when Kendricks pitch and his era is garbage but they tend to rack up the runs

I have also bet a parlay in Philly 1.5 (-210), Mercury to WIN and Sparks to WIN. Paying just over two to one. So I don't usually bet this, but it looks good today.
