Expected final at Rogers Cup this year. 1st on the WTA list Justin Henin will play against 3rd Jelena Jankovic, but in my opinion at the moment those are two best players in the world.
Henin comes to final without set dropped. She won over Andreja Klepac, Peng, Petrova and this year surprise Zi Yan. Se didn’t has any problems except against Petrova when Justin was close to lose first set. Although she have good results on the paper Henin is far from her best form and Jankovic could maybe take advantage of it. So far, Justin Henin won all six encounters but except the last one at Roland Garros she always dropped one set to Jelena Jankovic.
Jelena also didn’t has real problems in previous rounds beating Pelletier, Bammer , Razzano and Tatiana Golovin. In the last match Golovin took first set against Jelena but Jankovic performed much better in the rest of the match and dismiss her opponent easily. Improvement in here performance is visible from one match to another but to take current champion she must improve her serve which is my opinion weakest part of her game. Also Jankovic must break psychological barrier and if she could do that chances for first win against No1 will be much bigger than bookies suggest.
I’m not quite sure Jankovic could upset Henin today but following tradition in the previous encounters I think one set for Serbian player is the less we could expect.
So, my pick will be over 21.5 games WON (1.95 @ gamebookers) and another option could be Jankovic set hc 1.5. LOST
