Brazil – Serbia & Montenegro
S&M made historical success with semi final at World Championship in Japan. They had furious start beating current World Champions Italy 3:1 and then Cuba , Peru , Egypt , Turkey , South Korea , Poland. They lost by hosts Japan 3:2 after leading of 0:2 in sets . In last, decisive , match they won harder than expected against Chinese Taipei 3:2. Girls from Serbia and Montenegro showed great form at whole tournament. They were underdogs in front of WC , but then , odds rapidly dropped for their win . S&M play very fast in field, and that could be a problem for Brazil. All players are well prepared physically , although psychically they could have problems because they play against "big name" Brazil.
Brazil is the only undefeated team so far, in Japan. They have wins against Azerbaijan , Cameroon , USA ,Netherlands , Kazakhstan , Puerto Rico and Germany all by 3:0. And they missed three sets to win , two against China and one against Russia . Brazil have similar conception of play and tactics like Serbia and Montenegro . They have lot of quality players and like team they are very compact .
Serbia already won against two "big names" in Japan , Italy and Cuba so maybe the third is in prospect . Brazil is maybe better team , but I believe not so better and I would not be surprised with winner decision in 5 sets .I will try with small stake on S&M because odds are very big, but my main pick is Serbia and Montenegro 2.5 set handicap. ( Serbia and Montenegro to take at least one set)
