BETTING RULES

November 16th 2006 13:19
1. BET ONLY WITH MONEY YOU CAN AFFORD TO LOSE

Maybe is best way to form something I call betting bank . Retire some money on one or more accounts and start to bet . I said retire with purpose , because you must depart of your money before you start to bet. If you lose whole bank , don’t lose self confidence . Try again , but calculate how far you can go, how much money you’re capable to lose again.

2. DISCIPLINE

Maybe the most important in betting . Related to discipline are betting strategies . Bets made on blind often leads to fast collapse . It’s always good to have betting plan , personal or already proven by other bettors, it doesn’t matter . Sometime you will have long winning rows, even then don’t change your betting plan , don’t be greedy , you’re not infallible.

3. THERE’S NO SURE BET

Nothing is sure in betting . Beware especially of matches with first and last team on the table involved . My experience said , very often such matches does not end in expected way . Even if you have information about some fixed or prearranged match . Before you put lot of money on it , reconsider your source and then make your decision . Again , sure bet do not exist.

4. BE INFORMED

To rise chances for winning , before you make bet , analyze match you want to bet on . Important facts are team current form , team news ( injuries , bans , interpersonal relations in team, new coach …) and tradition ( head-to-head stats ) . Such information you can find in newspapers , magazines , blogs , forums … Here at www.betshrink.com I will make my own research about particularly matches and I will share my information with you.

5. BET ON SINGLE MATCHES

This rule is pure mathematics . When you bet on more than one match chances for winning rapidly goes down. If you make accumulator with two matches in it chances for winning are 1:9. Accumulator with 3 matches means chances 1:27 , with four 1:81, five 1:243 and so on . Single match bet give you an fair chance of 1:3 . I usually bet with Asian handicap and chances are raised to 1:2 .

6. TAKE A BREAK

If you are in an losing row take a little break . Clear your head , forget about previous lost and after week or two start to bet again . It often can be very useful . There are days with only few betting events , do not bet just to make a bet . Rest day or two and wait for more events.

7. TAKE THE MONEY

When you made some profit take the money . You can decide to take the initial bank back or to take your winning money . The rest will become your new initial bank. Remember, when you are satisfied with profit always withdraw it from account . That will stop you to raise your stakes and prevent eventual losing of precious money .

8. DO NOT START (QUIT)

In case you are not ready to lose money , if you don’t have enough discipline , if you don’t have enough time for research … DO NOT START WITH BETTING . Successful betting is not an easy job to do. If you are not capable to make some profit in certain period of time ( from my experience 6 months ) , if betting costs lot of your nerves , if you are focused only on betting , if you ignore your obligations , family or friends because of betting … QUIT . Betting is not worth of your whole life.

This is only an short guide for betting , but I hope it can be useful .

Good luck

Like I said in my betting rules : There are days with only few betting events , do not bet just to make a bet. Today is definitely day for no bet .

Thanks for your comment Milex , weekend is coming and with weekend lot of good bets too.

some sage advice here but there is a lot of emotion involved when you're dealing with money. commonsense becomes a commodity that is absent.

Hi Stanley,

Thanks for replying . Yes , the rules are always there for breaking. But if you can be disciplined enough , then you can be successful in betting. And emotions are the worst thing you should involve in betting . Less emotions more money , it could be another rule .

Do you like to bet?

i like to bet but being emotional and a uni student curbs the amount of money i can spend ie. none.

Too bad, Stanley

I had some similar periods( without $$ ) and rolled just small amounts of money on accumulators with odds higher than 100.00. So, if you're lucky enough you should try it. I call it betting for fun.
