Haas - Davydenko

Great match in prospect. Both players has pretty good form , but I think Davydenko is slight better . Both prefer hard surface as their game is based on excellent serve. But Davydenko play on high level for a long time , he eliminated Muller, Roitman , solid Santoro and excellent Berdych , the last one pretty easy which talk a lot about Davydenko's current strenght.

Haas eliminated Montanes , Bozoljac, Mayer , typical clay courter and in the last round favorite Nalbandian , but Nalbandian had problems with form during whole tournament so that win was not so unexpected. H2H is 2:0 for Davydenko. Anyway , Haas probably can take set , maybe two , but at the end , I think the "Ice Man" power will prevail . Davydenko to win.

Gonzalez - Nadal

Gonzalez looks impressive so far , but tonight he will has the moment of the truth. Gonzalez took Blake and made big surprise few days ago but in match against Nadal he must play better if he wants to win. Nadal play on good level, so far not best from him , but evidently he use experience to overcome hard situations in matches. Murray had a chance against him , but Rafa was best in the most vital moments . I expect similar tonight too. Gonzalez will attack , he will has some chances , but at the end I expect Nadal in the next round. H2H Gonzalez leads 2:1 , but those two wins were long time ago . Tonight is good chance for Rafa to equalize score. Nadal to win.

Ivanovic - Zvonareva

For me this is the most interesting match at the Aussie Open third round in women competition. Two good players Ivanovic and Zvonareva will have a chance to play in 1/8 finals . I think Ivanovic is slight favorite here. First of all Ivanovic has better serve than Zvonareva , second Zvonareva had very easy opponents in first two rounds while Ivanovic had very good Radwanska in the previous one .

Ana play nice tennis at the beginning of the season and few weeks ago she won against Petrova , while Zvonareva failed against stronger players like Jankovic or Stosur are. H2H is 1:0 for Ivanovic, two years ago , pretty easy on clay . On hard surface I expect even better performances from young Serbian player .
So, my pick is Ivanovic to win.

Bozoljac - Haas

Bozoljac is young and talented player and its possible he will be one of the biggest surprises this year. He already has big experience in challenger tour and he is one of the best in that competition , but it seems to me he is ready now for the ATP tour .

In first match at Aussie Open he won easily against Cilic 3:0 in sets . His secret weapon is great serve , one of the strongest in the tennis world. On hard surface this is big advantage for any player . But also he do not lack the other elements of play too. Bozoljac is physically very strong player so I think he will resist hot temperature in Melbourne without problems.

I think he could make surprise of the second round .Bozoljac to win . But small stakes only , something around 3 or 4/10.

Osasuna - Atletico

This is Copa Del Rey last 16 second leg match. First leg finished 1:1 . Osasuna had lead from 37 minute , but 10 men Atletico equalized 15 minutes before end. Osasuna played well then and especially they had excellent defensive performances . In the mean time Osasuna trashed Betis in Primera 5:1 which talks a lot about their current form. Osasuna should have full squad for this match as their two recent injuries goalkeeper Ricardo and midfielder Valdo were in team last match against Betis.

Atletico is also team in form . They’ve trashed Celta in Primera match last weekend 1:3. Interesting for this team is fact that they lost only once in away matches and they have best away record in the league. But I don’t think they will be comfortable in Pamplona today as they have bad tradition here , and also one in form opponent . Atletico will probably be without first choice goalkeeper Leo Franco who is injured and the rest of the team should be complete.

Very interesting match tonight in Spain and certainly it will not be easy for both sides. Atletico is high on the table and they can expect to play in Europe this season , while Osasuna’s only chance is Copa del Rey . Osasuna must be marked from me as slight favorite , because they play at home . Regarding form, currently both teams enjoy good times and that’s why I think this could be a tricky match. However , I will give advantage to the home side here. Osasuna AH 0.

Djokovic - Massu

Djokovic is absolute favorite here. He is young , but already great player . He likes to play on hard surface and this year he won in Adelaide. The other player , Massu prefer clay , on that surface he maybe has some chances , but on hard I cannot see him taking neither one set.

Chievo - Catania

Chievo is very inconsistent team this year , but with new-old coach Del Neri they made nice improvement in form and , in results too. After the break they played Cup match against Sampdoria in Genova and lost 1:0 , but it’s questionable how much they are motivated in Cup competition because they have important fights in Serie A. They are currently in dangerous zone and every point is very important for survival. Today Chievo will be without suspended Lana and Obina :

Jankovic - Clijsters

This is the final match in Sydney. Jankovic and Clijsters really showed best tennis at this tournament. Jankovic has eliminated Hingis , Mauresmo and in last match Vaidisova and now she have 9-0 in 2007 so far. In last match she had some problems with Vaidisova , but experience and excellent movement in the field gave her second final this year

Jankovic - Vaidisova

I've watched matches of both players and I think Jankovic play better technical tennis . In every second of the match she knows well what to play and her great form are already made two wins against Hingis and then Mauresmo ( for the first time in Jankovic's career ) . Mauresmo was humiliated in the last set losing 6:0

Getafe - Barcelona

Getafe is very good team at home . Some favorite teams like Real , for example, failed against Getafe this season. But I believe today will be different . Getafe lost last match at home against another team from Barcelona , Espanyol 0:1 and I expect similar end of this match today. Getafe is without David Kortes and probable line up is:

Real Sociedad - Osasuna

After Sociedad sacked Baquero great improvement is visible in team . New coach Lotina have excellent results compared to Sociedad performances before he came to team. In last 7 matches Sociedad lost only once ( against Barcelona 1:0) , and finally they’ve made first win this season against Nastic 3:2. During winter transfer period they bought few quality players ( Lopez, Herrera and Savio) but they will not play today. Felicio will miss out this match too. Good news is come back of Gari Uranga , Sociedad best striker , also youngster Agirretxe is fit again.

Zimonjic/Youzhny - Damm/Paes

This is the final match of tournament in Quatar. First double Zimonjic/Youzhny won over Ramirez Hidalgo/Volandri , Kohlschreiber/Soderling and in semi-final against Murray/Murray. This is not the firs tournament for this double as they have played some matches together last year too. So, players are accustomed to each other. Zimonjic is not very famous in singles competition , but in the doubles he is one of the best in the world , and I think this will be the advantage for Serbian/Russian pair

Newcastle - Manchester Utd

Newcastle lost last two matches against Bolton 2:1 and Everton 3:0. They had strong performances before those games , but the things are not the same in team now. On last match against Everton they were without lot of players and some of the rest were not on their usual positions. They’ve lost another player against Everton , Peter Ramage is new injured player in team. So, today they will be without lot of standard players , especially in defensive line and I do not see how they will find adequate substitutions. On injured players list are : Ramage, Moore, Babayaro, Bramble , Moore , Harper and also long term injured Owen , Ameobi, Bernard , N’Zogbia . So, Roeder will have to chose between:
